About
We are publishing this series of reports and related materials as an accounting of the widespread impacts of drug war criminalization, but also a call to action for all of us to work to end the conditions that allow the drug war to exist. At the Drug Policy Alliance, we believe that there is a way forward that includes all of us. We do not accept one version of coercion for another or one type of surveillance for another. We believe that we should not be compliant in each other’s oppression. Let us work together, across movements and generations, to end the drug war and, instead, envision and build a culture centered on autonomy, health, equity, and justice.
About DPA
The Drug Policy Alliance envisions a just society in which the use and regulation of drugs are grounded in science, compassion, health and human rights, in which people are no longer punished for what they put into their own bodies, and in which the fears, prejudices and punitive prohibitions of today are no more. Our mission is to advance those policies and attitudes that best reduce the harms of both drug use and drug prohibition, and to promote the autonomy of individuals over their minds and bodies.
